why is being an exchange student so emotional?

  1. Because we're basically living our live's to the fullest, opening ourselves up as much as possible to absorb our host culture. Of course, to stay that open to a new culture, we can't keep up walls to control our emotions as much as we can while in our home country. So I don't see being an exchange student as being really emotional as compared to others, we just express our feelings more because we can't hold them up when we're getting involved in a new way of life. If that makes sense.

Also, this quote is really good - helps me remember that it's okay to be vocal about how I'm feeling. :)
